Track B · Lesson 2 of 4
Pick campaigns that fit your audience
Outcome
You'll finish with the know-how to read any campaign's deal, work out what it pays, and pick one that matches your audience's countries, platforms and interests.
Fit beats headline rates
A campaign with a big rate earns nothing if your audience can't use it. Before you look at the money, check three kinds of fit: countries, platforms and interests.
Fit 1: Countries
Gambling is licensed country by country, so every campaign lists its . Your sends visitors from anywhere else to a neutral "not available in your region" page, so those clicks can't earn.
Look at your audience stats and note your top countries. Shortlist only campaigns that accept most of them.
Fit 2: Platforms
Each campaign also lists the platforms where it may be promoted. Platform rules apply on top. For example, TikTok doesn't allow ordinary creators to market gambling (TikTok (opens in a new tab)). You need both the campaign and the platform to say yes. The next lesson is a full refresher.
Fit 3: Interests
Match the campaign to what your followers already enjoy. A persona whose followers love match days is a natural fit for a sportsbook campaign. A persona built around nightlife and glamour may suit a casino campaign better. The more natural the fit, the less your post feels like an interruption.
How the deal types work
Every campaign pays in one of three ways. Rates are set per campaign, so always read the campaign page.
A share of revenue
(revenue share) pays you a percentage of what the casino keeps from the players you referred, for every month they keep playing.
That amount is called (net gaming revenue). It starts from (gross gaming revenue): what players bet, minus what they won back. NGR is GGR minus bonuses, payment fees and gambling taxes. Each casino defines its exact deductions.
Worked example. Alexis's players produce $10,000 of NGR in a month. The campaign pays 30% RevShare.
$10,000 × 30% = $3,000 for Alexis
If an recruited Alexis, that Ambassador earns 10% of $3,000 = $300 as a . Luxwyn pays that on top, so Alexis still gets her full $3,000.
When players win
Sometimes your players win more than they lose in a month, so NGR is below zero. RevShare then pays nothing for that month. What happens next depends on :
- Off (the Luxwyn default): the negative is dropped, and next month starts fresh.
- On: the negative carries forward and is subtracted from your next positive month.
Here's an example with made-up numbers at 30%. March's NGR is −$2,000 and April's is +$5,000.
| Month | Carryover off | Carryover on |
|---|---|---|
| March | $0 | $0 |
| April | 30% × $5,000 = $1,500 | 30% × ($5,000 − $2,000) = $900 |
Every campaign states which rule applies.
A one-time payment per player
(cost per acquisition) pays a fixed amount, once, for each new player who becomes a . Each campaign sets its own qualifying rules, such as a minimum first deposit.
An (first-time depositor) isn't automatically qualified. Only qualified players earn CPA.
Example with made-up numbers: at $100 per qualified player, 5 qualified players earn you $500.
A mix of both
A pays both: a CPA amount for each qualified player, plus a RevShare percentage of NGR. Your total is simply the two added together.
Which deal suits you?
There's no single best deal. It depends on your audience:
- RevShare rewards players who keep playing over time, and some months can be zero.
- CPA pays once per qualified player, however much or little they play afterwards.
- Hybrid gives you some of each.
Don't choose on rate alone. A campaign your audience genuinely likes, in countries where they actually live, beats a higher rate they can't use.
Your campaign-fit checklist
| Question | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Are my audience's top countries accepted? | Campaign page: countries |
| Are my platforms allowed, by the campaign and by the platform itself? | Campaign page, plus the rules refresher |
| What's the deal type and rate? | Campaign page |
| What makes a player qualify? | Campaign rules |
| Is carryover on? | Campaign rules |
| Are there creative assets or a promo code? | Campaign page |
When one campaign ticks every box, request it from the Campaigns page. Start with one, learn from it, then add more.
